CORPORATE SECRETARY

Reporting to Board of Directors, you will be responsible for :

To provide independent corporate legal advice to the QBE Group, QBE Regional and the Indonesian operation, in relation to legal aspects of finance transactions, major acquisitions, sales and joint ventures including due diligence, structuring, drafting and execution of the transactions.
Contribute to a regime of continuous improvement to ensure the efficient use of resources in area of responsibility
Keep abreast of corporate legal developments, identify potential opportunities/threats and formulate action plans/mitigation strategies
Act as an internal expert to provide legal advice to internal customers so that their legal needs are well serviced.
Work with other QBE / QBE Pool managers and external service providers by engaging in concise and timely communication and helpful cooperation to proactively protect QBE’s interests
Provide independent corporate legal advice that achieves effective and efficient processes and desired outcomes
Contribute to the management of Legal Risk to ensure minimum financial impact on QBE results and to protect QBE’s reputation
Project manage Legal Issues to minimize the cost and risk to QBE.
Contribute to ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, industry codes and Company policies, guidelines and processes to protect QBE’s interests
Responsible for ensuring that company complies with standard financial and legal practice and maintains standards of good corporate governance referring to OJK.
As a point of communication between the board of directors and all company shareholders.
Reporting in a timely and accurate manner on company procedures and developments.


The successful applicant is expected to have:

• At least 10 years post admission experience acquired in either a recognised corporate law firm or legal department.
• Law degree and or with practising certificate
• Significant commercial litigation exposure
• Experience of Insurance / Financial Services environs
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Leadership abilities and strong business acumen
• Proficient in English is a must
